Amazing Adventures with Bonny in London

Bonny and I drove up to London on Friday and Phil joined us on Saturday morning.
We first headed to Squint LTD where everything was beautiful and Inspiring!
Loads of old Singer sewing machines in the window display and even more in the shop!
And then we decided to climb up St Pauls Cathedral - it is 530 steps to the top and most of it is spiral staircases!

...almost at the top and you can peer down to the cathedral floor to see specs(people) wandering below

Finally at the top and the view was definately worth it!

Then off to the Tate Modern - By this stage my feet were very tired and so I opted for a 'comfy' chair while Bonny and Phil explored!

and then off to a Pub for a pint or two...
before hitting China Town for Dinner!
and then to the Trocadero to win a Bart for Bonny!
Bonny got her feet wet and decided to wrap them in toilet paper...
Sunday - After Borough market we wandered to the River and had a bit of a picnic!

Bonny thought this sign below was hilarious... so on the way home from dropping her at Heathrow we took a photo for her!

and that was the end of the Amazing Adventures of Tara, Phil and Bonny... for now...

More Amazing Adventures with Bonny in Gloucestershire

On Saturday we went to the Highnam Court Spring Fair!
Regulatory Pimms in hand while posing with Spring flowers and Nettles!
Phil and the Dragon!!
Horse and Rider which has seen better days...
...

Sunday saw us heading through the Rape Field for a long walk...

as you can see Bonny is exhausted and we're barely out the door!

Top of Nut Hill!
and then down the hill to Bowden Hall Hotel for a well deserved Pint!

and back home through the Field of Horses!

Bonny's last week was spent making an owl and heading to Nature in Art.
Nature in Art was amazing - especially the garden sculptures!

Can you make this one out? It's two Hares fighting!
and last of all a wonderful old Owl!

More fun to be had in Wales

The lady at Trecastle Antiques said we should go to New Quay and so we did - eventually!

Dinner was Fish and Chips which was really awful! This terrible state of affairs had to remedied by a bottle of Bubbly followed or preceded(I forget) by some very nice Sloe Gin!!

after Fish and Chips and before the bubbly, we took a wander and found a lovely guest house for the night overlooking the harbour!
the next morning after very strong coffee we went wandering and exploring...

What a lovely town! Will definately be back!

We took a slow drive home stopping for large amounts of cheese at a farm in the middle of Nowhere and Mead at a Honey farm!
We stopped in Lampeter to see the market - really nothing to see which was sad so I took a photo of a pretty horse!
and then we took the long road home, passing this truck on the Severn Bridge.

Can you read the writing on the back?

So instead of Morocco, we went to Wales!

We started in Abergavenny where we went to a great Antiques market and then had a typical lunch of Yorkshire pudding filled with YUM!

Then off to Brecon where we explored some more and found a lovely Bed and Breakfast with a sloping ceiling against which I kept hitting my head!
Dinner included Laverbread and more YUM and a bit of Wine!
After a stop at the Local on the way home where the locals gave us strange looks we headed to bed!
This tombstone was in the grounds of the B&B

After some shopping at the brecon Beacons - (not what most people go there for I know!) and a cup of much needed coffee we stopped at this Antique filled spot - there were things everywhere!
Outside everything had been there a while and it was covered by a thick layer of weather!

Then off to Llandovery where Bonny had her first Cream tea and I think enjoyed it!

and then we started shopping - again!!
This 'store' was absolutely crammed full!! The owner said and I quote: "I have no problem aquiring things, it's getting rid of them thats the problem!"

Welsh hero

A 16-foot (4.9 m) high stainless steel statue to Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan was unveiled in 2001 on the north side of Llandovery Castle, overlooking the place of his execution six hundred years earlier.
He had led the army of King Henry IV on 'a wild goose chase' under the pretence of leading them to a secret rebel camp and an ambush of Glyndŵr's forces.
King Henry lost patience with him, exposed the charade and had him half hanged, disemboweled in front of his own eyes, beheaded and quartered - the quarters salted and dispatched to other Welsh towns for public display.

Bonny's Birthday - Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle and a braai...

Tintern Abbey! What a beautiful place! Bonny's first taste of Wales!

Our first Daisy chain - or Mine anyway...
after a bit of shopping we headed to Chepstow and the Castle-

It's right on the cliff - an amazing place to live with beautiful views!

That was enough for one day so we went home and had our first Braai in the UK - not only that, BUT we got to use our brand new 'out of the box' Weber for the first time after being in the garage for the last 10 years!

We also got to harvest our first mushrooms!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BONNY!!
